Clyde Otis Appointed Municipal Judge In Maplewood

March 28, 2019

Clyde Otis was recently given the honor and privilege of being appointed and sworn in as the Municipal Court Judge in Maplewood, New Jersey. Clyde brings the type of legal background, demeanor, management skills and true sense of justice that will serve Maplewood (a township of approximately 25,000 people in Essex County) well in this role. In addition to his other professional endeavors, both as an in-house municipal counsel and in private practice, Clyde previously served as a Prosecutor for the City of Newark in Newark’s Municipal Court, which has the most voluminous caseload in the State of New Jersey.  In addition to engaging in general prosecutorial duties, Clyde served for four years as the DWI, traffic and code enforcement prosecutor for Newark.  Clyde began fulfilling his judicial duties right away and is now hearing and deciding cases in Maplewood Municipal Court.
