Frederick B. Polak
Fred Polak, Post Polak's Managing Partner, heads the firm's litigation practice. With more than 30 years of litigation experience, Fred has tried numerous cases before juries and has extensive bench trial experience as well. He concentrates his practice in shareholder/partnership disputes and employment matters, as well as general corporate and commercial litigation. He also assists the firm's clients in regulatory compliance matters when litigation is a possibility.
Among his notable successes was helping the limited partner owners of a medical practice recoup virtually all their money from a general partner who had cheated them out of millions of dollars. Fred has also successfully represented private and public entities that have had claims asserted against them for violations of federal and/or state anti-harassment and discrimination laws. He regularly advises companies on implementing policies to prevent such discrimination.
Fred spent the first six years of his professional life with the U.S. Department of Justice, including three years with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey.
Fred recognizes that there are times when it is appropriate to aggressively pursue litigation, but at other times the client’s interests are best served by working collaboratively with adversaries.
Fred has received an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale. He has been included in the list of New Jersey Super Lawyers, as a top-rated business litigator.
