Irene Kim Asbury Joins Post Polak

December 20, 2021

Post Polak is very pleased to welcome our new counsel, Irene Kim Asbury, an experienced governmental affairs and municipal law attorney with over 10 years' experience with state and local public entities. Irene has provided advice, guidance and representation to municipal entities and department heads on a wide range of issues and business needs, including Local Public Contracts Law, Open Public Meetings Act, Open Public Records Act, Local Lands and Buildings Law, compliance, governance, human resources, labor and employment law, election law, public utilities, building code administration, enforcement and municipal prosecution.

As the former Secretary for the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, she also has significant experience handling complex multi-agency matters (such as the JCP&L Monmouth County Reliability Project, the Southern Reliability Pipeline and the rollout of Verizon Fios in Southern New Jersey).

Irene is skilled in managing board meetings, advising governing bodies as counsel, and understands the political sensitivities to various issues that arise during public meetings to provide proactive, rather than reactive, legal advice. She has also been involved in numerous elections on the local, state and federal level, as election challenger and election counsel for various candidates throughout the State of New Jersey.
