Mitchell Portnoi Recovers $60,000 Settlement in Discrimination In Hiring Claim

Mitchell Portnoi, a partner at Post Polak, recently settled a case of discrimination in hiring against a City/Township in Middlesex County. Post Polak’s client had applied for a position with the public entity many times over a number of years and was repeatedly turned down by that entity in favor of others from classes traditionally not discriminated against. This was in spite of the client having a part-time position with the entity and his being ultimately hired after Post Polak’s involvement. Facing the various hurdles any lawyer faces in a discrimination case against a public entity, Mitch succeeded in obtaining a $60,000 settlement for the client following mediation.
